Jada Pinkett Smith will Lead the Cast in the Upcoming Netflix Film “Redd Zone”

Jada Pinkett Smith will play the role of “Tia Magee,” a responsible and kind mother who comes to the rescue of her sons and their high school football friend after their best friend dies tragically.

Jada Pinkett Smith is ready to impress the subscribers of Netflix. The very talented host of the popular show “Red Table Talk” will lead the cast of the upcoming film, which is to be produced by the streaming giant.

According to a report published by Variety, Jada Pinkett Smith will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Netflix film titled “Redd Zone.” Smith will also be the executive producer of the film, which will be based on the real-life story of a woman named Tia Magee. The official synopsis released by Netflix describes Tia Magee as someone who is a mother and has no partner. After the tragic death of one of her sons’ best friends, she takes it upon herself to change the life of her sons and their football friends from high school.

The film will explore Magee’s endeavor to make “The Bros” heal after they lose one of their mates due to his tragic death. The name of their deceased friend is Dominic Redd, who gets tragically murdered.

One after another, the guys from “The Bros.” move into her house. Almost 17 boys lived under her roof for many years before they moved into a college, and four among them joined an NFL team. Magee’s own son Brandon Magee soon became a linebacker for the team called Cleveland Browns and later for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Magee later gets drafted by the Boston Red Sox as an outfielder.

Brandon Magee, who is a well-known footballer now, will also be an executive producer of the film. He will be joined by Jada Pinkett Smith, Jon Mone, Howard Burkons, and Miguel Melendez. Westbrook Studios and Netflix will oversee the development of the film.

Apart from leading the cast in “Redd Zone,” Jada Pinkett Smith also has a handful of other projects. She is still producing her Facebook Watch series “The Red Table Talk,” which has grown in popularity over the years. Now, her mother and her daughter have also joined her in the talk show series. She will also be seen in the fourth installment of the Matrix film titled “The Matrix 4.” She is also currently busy with the production of the same, which will see Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss returning to the franchise almost two decades later.

Matrix will be a star-studded film that is going to feature global stars like Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist, Game of Thrones), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), and Priyanka Chopra (Quantico).

She will also be an executive producer of the upcoming biopic “King Richard,” which will see her husband Will Smith taking on the role of Richard Williams, who is a real-life father of Lawn Tennis superstars Serena Williams and Venus Williams.

Westbrook studios are also helming the production of another Will Smith-starrer project, “Emancipation.”
